Reading Program
Kindergarten through 2nd grade uses the reading program Superkids. The students will periodically be bringing home their Superkids reading book, which has stories about the Superkids. First semester 1st grade students read Adventures of the Superkids. Second semester 1st grade students read More Adventures of the Superkids. Students will also bring home Superduper Magazines and small stories to reread for homework.
The Accelerated
Reader program is a
computerized program that tests reading comprehension.
Students select books on their reading level, read
independently, and take an independent comprehension test on the computer. Each
book is worth a certain number of points based on its length and reading level.
Our librarian has a small reward system and a school bulletin board to
acknowledge student accomplishments.
